PM Zandanshatar Meets Putin During SCO Summit
Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar met with Russian President V.V.Putin, emphasizing that deepening Mongolia’s traditional good-neighbourly relations with Russia remains a priority of Mongolia’s foreign policy. He reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to strengthening political trust and expanding the countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership. President Putin noted that high-level visits between the two sides have become more active and that agreements made by the heads of state are steadily being implemented. He expressed confidence that the two governments will work closely on major projects, including the Russia-to-China gas pipeline through Mongolia and the “Mongolia–Russia–China Economic Corridor” program.
The two sides also agreed to commemorate the 105th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026. Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar previously met President Putin during the Eastern Economic Forum in September, and this week they met again during the expanded session of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO member and observer states.
