PM Urges Oyu Tolgoi to Name a Mongolian CEO

Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar first held an online meeting, then an in-person discussion with K.Jackson, Director of the Copper Group at Rio Tinto. The two sides noted the successful start of negotiations launched last month to reduce loan interest and management fees, and exchanged views on increasing the project’s real returns for Mongolia.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that appointing a Mongolian citizen as the Executive Director of Oyu Tolgoi would be an important step toward fully safeguarding national interests.
