The Constitutional Court ruled that the dismissal of Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar violated the Constitution, thereby restoring the government’s full authority.

Last week, Parliament had voted to remove him from office by majority vote. However, the Court found that the voting procedure and attendance did not meet constitutional requirements.

It also concluded that Deputy Speaker H.Bulgantuya violated Article 1.2 of the Constitution, which states that “democracy and the rule of law are the fundamental principles of state activity.”

Zandanshatar had challenged his dismissal in the Constitutional Court, which swiftly took up the case, citing its “extraordinary significance,” and held a hearing within three days.

During the session, 18 MPs represented Parliament but walked out mid-hearing, accusing the judges of bias. As a result, no parliamentary members were present when the Court announced its final decision.
