During the COP30 conference in Brazil, a high-level discussion titled “From Dialogue to Action: Making COP30 a Turning Point” took place at the German Pavilion. Environment and Climate Change Minister B.Batbaatar outlined Mongolia’s integrated approach to climate impacts, biodiversity loss, and land degradation, noting that the country will introduce three major initiatives at COP17.

He stated that when Mongolia hosts COP17 in Ulaanbaatar in 2026, it will put forward proposals on rangeland stewardship, integrated water–land management, and nature-based infrastructure. These initiatives aim to link land, climate, and biodiversity more effectively and to expand global landscape restoration efforts.
