This means the prices of consumer goods and services have risen by 8.1 percent compared to the same period last year. However, the figure shows a 0.1 percent decline compared to the previous month. The main contributors to this rise were housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which increased by 19.9 percent, and clothing, textiles, and footwear, which rose by 9.1 percent.

For reference, exactly one year ago, in July 2024, the inflation rate stood at 5.1 percent. The acceleration by 3 percentage points was driven by the prices of imported goods other than gasoline and fuel (+26 percent), and domestic goods excluding meat and solid fuels (+60.8 percent).

Meanwhile, inflation in Ulaanbaatar reached 9.3 percent, compared to 4.4 percent in the capital during the same period last year.
