Government Launches Virtual Zone to Boost Tech Sector

At its recent meeting, the government approved regulations to establish a virtual zone aimed at supporting the information technology sector. The decision is part of efforts to diversify Mongolia’s economy, which has long been dependent on mining. Within this framework, IT companies will be eligible for the following benefits:

-Exemptions from income tax
-Grants covering up to 40% of the total cost of AI projects
-Grants to cover patent registration expenses
-Reimbursement for social insurance contributions
-Incentives for patent holders
-Support covering 70% of research and development costs
-Loan guarantees
