The Government of Mongolia has reduced the total number of positions within its agencies by 300, including 54 department and division head posts. This restructuring is expected to save around 10 billion MNT annually in salary expenses. The decision was made at today’s regular Cabinet meeting after reviewing the structure, unit ratios, and staffing across government agencies.

This move is part of the government’s broader effort to create a “lean, skilled, and efficient” civil service. By streamlining organizational structures, removing overlapping functions, and balancing managerial and executive roles, the government aims to reduce bureaucratic layers and improve the performance and productivity of public servants.
