For the first time, a hybrid locomotive has been introduced

“Mongolian Railway” JSC has received its first-ever hybrid locomotive. This project was the result of cooperation between Chinese and Mongolian engineers, who in 2014 refurbished an old locomotive that had reached the end of its service life. Over the course of one year, they upgraded it with modern systems. The new locomotive is equipped with two batteries and two diesel engines, reducing fuel consumption by up to 70 percent and significantly lowering emissions, making it an environmentally friendly solution.
