Ulaanbaatar hosted the 10th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Forum for East Asia–Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC). Established in 1999, FEALAC is the only official dialogue mechanism linking the two regions, with the aim of promoting cooperation, mutual understanding, and economic ties. The forum now has 33 member states, with Mongolia joining in 2010.

This year’s meeting was notable for coinciding with FEALAC’s 25th anniversary. Ministers held discussions under the theme “25 Years and Beyond: The Future Vision of East Asia–Latin America Cooperation” and adopted the “Ulaanbaatar Declaration.”

It was also announced that Mongolia will chair the forum on behalf of the East Asia group from 2025 to 2027, alongside the Dominican Republic representing Latin America.
