Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications E.Batshugar has announced plans to eliminate paper receipts as part of the government’s major digital transition projects.

The move aims to simplify e-receipt registration and fully replace paper versions, which officials say will ensure citizens receive their full tax refunds. Several service providers, including CU, Mobicom, and Unitel, already link in-app payments directly to customers’ e-receipt accounts. This approach is not only user-friendly but also reduces waste, offering an environmentally friendly solution. As a related note, Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar announced last month that VAT refunds will increase from 2% to 5%.
