A new facility in Ulaanbaatar will treat up to 50 million cubic meters of water annually from the city’s western supply source, bringing it up to drinking water standards before distributing it through the central network. Construction is 99.5% complete, with equipment installation and adjustments already underway.

Prime Minister G.Zandanshatar personally visited the site, located on the eastern slope of Songino Khairkhan Mountain, to review progress. The advanced-technology plant is part of the $461 million “Ulaanbaatar Water Supply Expansion Program,” funded by the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation’s grant assistance and the Mongolian government’s investment.
