At the Critical Minerals and Mining Forum 2025 in Seoul, several important agreements were reached between Mongolian and South Korean private sector representatives and research institutions:

  • Training of specialists: 500 mining engineers will be trained at Chonbuk National University.
  • Corporate cooperation: Komir Corporation will cooperate with Mongolia in mineral resource inventory, geological exploration, and mine rehabilitation.
  • Research collaboration: The Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) will work with Mongolia in critical mineral research.
  • Supply agreement: Erdenes Alt Resource LLC signed a $17 million contract with Samsung Group to supply silver concentrate.
  • Financial cooperation: The Development Bank of Mongolia will partner with Korea Investment & Securities to secure low-cost financing sources.
