The 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) was held in Sucre, Bolivia, coinciding with the country’s 200th anniversary of independence. The competition brought together over 330 participants from 87 countries.

Representing Mongolia, Ch.Irmuun, a student at Erkhet Erdem School, won a bronze medal. This marks his second consecutive bronze, having also medaled last year. The Mongolian national team this year also included G.Amarsanaa (Mongol-Oyu School), G.Erkhem (Nest School), and M.Tuvshinbayar (Sant School).

Since first participating in the IOI in 1990, Mongolia has earned a total of 1 gold, 2 silver, and 11 bronze medals. Notably, in 2020, A.Nyamdavaa of Sant School became the first and only Mongolian to win gold at the IOI. Over his IOI career, he collected three medals in total: 1 gold and 2 silver.
