4,400 Teaching Positions Remain Vacant
The Ministry of Education has announced that, ahead of the 2025–2026 academic year, there is a nationwide shortage of 4,400 teachers.
-General education schools are short of 3,324 teachers, of which 1,590 are needed in Ulaanbaatar.
-Kindergartens require 1,147 teachers, with 685 of these positions also in Ulaanbaatar.
Notably, this summer 2,877 students graduated with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. In addition, 163 people completed teacher certification training, making them eligible to teach.
